- I've been looking at Motorolas. They seem very nice but are VERY
- expensive. The price we go for a 42 modem capable rack was roughly $625
- per modem ($1250 per card- 2 modems per card) plus $1300 for the rack
- and $1000 for the backplane. I couldn't justify the cost.
-
- I'm trying out a Hayes Optima 28.8 rack. Holds 16 modems and is very
- inexpensive on their ISP program. Plus they're free for 30 days! My
- first impression was that they look cheaply made. I had about 10 small
- buttons that were cracked straight through, but the 10 degree weather
- could have done that. So far the modems work well. I've only had them 3
- days but for the price ($259 per modem-includes rack and PS). I think I
- might keep them.
-
- Has anyone else tried these? Please email me your experiences.
